ABOUT GLORIA ANN

Gloria Ann Shows is a printmaker and interdisciplinary artist based in Washington, DC. Rooted in themes of memory, place, and narrative, her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Pearl Conard Gallery (Mansfield, OH), The Project Box (Oklahoma City, OK), and Graceful Arts Gallery (Alva, OK), as well as in group exhibitions throughout the greater Columbus and Oklahoma City areas. She has also shown at Flood Plain (St. Louis, MO), Living Arts of Tulsa (Tulsa, OK), and ARTS/West (Athens, OH).

Gloria has participated in residencies at Artspace at Untitled (Oklahoma City, OK) and Northwestern Oklahoma State University (Alva, OK). Her prints are held in the collections of the Kohler Art Library at UW–Madison, the University of North Florida, Indiana University Bloomington, the Zuckerman Museum of Art, and the Southern Graphics Council International Archive. She is a recipient of grants from the Ohio Arts Council, The Ohio State University, and Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, and has been awarded Best in Traditional Techniques by the Oklahoma Printmaking Network and Curator’s Choice Award for the Connect:Collect Exhibition at the Norrick Art Center (Oklahoma City, OK).

Gloria earned her MFA in Printmaking from The Ohio State University and her BFA from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is a Printmaking Associate at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.
